Balti Chicken

Balti chicken
50g           Butter
2 Tbsp     Veg Oil
1kg             Chicken, cut into pieces
1                  Medium onion sliced
1 clove     Garlic

Ingredients A:
½ Tsp       Ground Cardamom
¼ Tsp       Ground cinnamon
1 Tsp         Chilli powder
150ml       Natural yogurt
50g            Ground almond
1 Tbsp       Lemon juice
1 Tsp         Salt
Pinch Black pepper
1 Tsp         Saffron strands

150ml         Double cream or sour cream
Garnish with coriander leaves

Heat the butter and oil in a pan and brown the chicken. Remove excess oil and put to one side.

Fry the onion for few minutes then add the garlic and cook for a further minute. Add ingredients A and cook for another 1 minute.

Add the chicken and simmer for about 45 minutes. Add water if required.
Stir in the double cream and cook for further 10 minutes. Sprinkle with coriander leaves before serving.
